Have ORANGE COUNTY Foreclosures PEAKED ?
As reported by Marilyn Kalfus, OC Register, 4/20/10
The total number of Orange County homes scheduled for foreclosure auctions, which hit a high of 10,514 as of December 2009, have been nudging downward in the first three months of 2010. Still, there were more than twice as many pending trustee sales last month compared to March 2009.
Here’s the past year broken down by month. Later this week we’ll pan out and compare notices of default — the first step in the foreclosure process — with pending auctions.
In the meantime, do you think foreclosures are really heading down, or are they just being postponed while homeowners try loan modifications and other measures to try to get out from under? .
